Ben works for housebuilders, strategic land promoters, football clubs, retailers, community groups and healthcare providers. He advises on all aspects of town and country planning, particularly planning applications, development plan representations, as well as feasibility studies and appraisals.
Ben supports clients at every stage of the planning process; from planning applications though to planning appeals and gives evidence at appeal hearings and inquiries. Ben also assists with lawful development certificate applications and where clients wish to vary, remove or discharge a planning conditions.
Recent examples of how Ben has helped clients include:
- overcoming restrictive Green Belt policy to secure planning permission for Stoke City FC’s new training ground and academy;
- securing consent for an out-of-town specialist food supermarket in the face of national planning policy hurdles; and
- obtaining outline planning permission for 185 dwellings on a greenfield site in Norfolk by effective liaison with the local planning authority, research and engagement with the community through exhibitions and liaison with key stakeholders, taking care to respond to local issues, and management of the multi-disciplinary team.
