A specialist in tax and trusts for high-net-worth individuals.
Fiona has over 19 years' experience as an accountant. She advises UK and non-UK residents on compliance with UK tax, preparing accounts and tax returns of trusts and deceased estates, providing capital gains tax planning advice, calculating inheritance tax charges, and ensuring that the beneficiaries of estates and trusts are able to make informed financial decisions with up-to-date information. Her particular interests are holdover relief, claims for overpayment relief, taxation of property and claims under the Enterprise Investment Scheme.
Fiona's clients include private and high-net-worth individuals, executors of deceased estates, trustees and beneficiaries of trusts.
Recent examples of how Fiona has helped clients include:
- ensuring that a high-net-worth client avoided paying penalties by demonstrating a previous advisor’s errors;
- successfully assisting a client to secure substantial repayments of income tax and capital gains tax by claiming relief under the Enterprise Investment Scheme together with capital gains tax deferral relief; and
- providing an in-house tax service which brought together all elements of trust income and other personal income and gains to ensure that the beneficiary of a trust accessed a streamlined and cost-effective approach.
