Nick specialises in the resolution of property disputes.
Nick is experienced in a wide range of property disputes over rights of way, adverse possession, trusts of land, property fraud, lease and tenancy disputes including forfeiture and dilapidations, as well as the property aspects of probate disputes. He also handles claims of professional negligence and equine law, occasionally combining these in claims against vets.
Nick's clients include companies, churches, charities, landed estates and individuals. He has a number of clients in the education sector, including schools and colleges, where he advises on issues relating to both student and parent issues.
Examples of how Nick has helped clients include:
- bringing a claim, which culminated in a change to the law regarding easements over public footpaths, to ensure a lady in her eighties could reach her home of over 40 years, when a neighbour attempted to block her access;
- securing a share of the assets of the Russian Orthodox Church in Britain on behalf of a group of long-established Anglo-Russians; and
- recovering substantial damages from solicitors who had negligently drafted a lease of a golf course.
