Knights is top choice for North West lawyers
Almost twenty new professionals have joined Chester-based Knights as part of its latest tranche of new hires, increasing its workforce by 38 per cent since March.
The leading regional professional services business continues to grow its non-legal offering following the appointment of a senior town planner.
It has also welcomed two of the region’s most highly-regarded private client lawyers, a highly-experienced travel industry lawyer and professionals in Chester’s conveyancing, asset management and dispute resolution teams.
After making a pledge to recruit 100 more professionals during 2016, Knights has smashed its annual target in the first quarter after growing its firm-wide workforce by 120 since January.
Sally Wightman, office leader at Knights’ Chester office said: “We’re recruiting quality professionals at a rapid pace to meet the increasing demand for our services.
“We’ve welcomed Matthew Wedderburn into our town planning team as we continue to offer more non-legal services, in addition to leading private client lawyers, Kate Brassington and Kate Handel, joining us from a rival law firm to expand our highly-regarded private client team and a highly-experienced travel industry lawyer.
“Our asset management team has grown by four, conveyancing has three more professionals and the commercial team has gained a further two. Employment, landed estates and dispute resolution have also benefited from new recruits.
“We can now support businesses with a full range of legal and other professional services, offering city expertise with a high-quality service locally, resulting in fewer businesses looking to Manchester, Liverpool or London for their legal services. This has led to our rapid growth across all teams.
“We’ve always had a long-term plan to invest in the recruitment of top-quality professionals and we have structured the business to ensure that we can consistently maintain an ongoing recruitment programme across our seven regional offices,” she said.
Knights is living up to its name as the fastest-growing professional services firm in the UK and has ambitious plans to grow further.
“In January we made a commitment to employ 100 new professionals firm-wide. We’ve always been open about our desire to attract the very best talent offering a sustainable business model and a positive culture that benefits everyone,” Sally added.
Knights is a UK top-70 law firm with more than 375 professionals and a £40 million turnover. The firm has offices in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Cheltenham, Chester, Hale, Derby, Oxford and Colchester.
